Putting your shots up
Hi Shannon
I had to send them to Adair as I couldn’t work it out….
What do you all think of the new logo for the show, paul the designers done a great job on this.
Hopefully dye cut in black with white lines…should look pretty nice
Images in…now just the printing….wondering if best to do one large one at life size which I know no on e will buy because it will be too big or two smaller ones but will not have the same effect?
Aidy how do you get your images up on the blog…do you do this through your website? Is there an easy way?

My Wood submissions
Finally got round to shooting my WOOD shots…
its been a fairly ‘full on’ process but I think I got something here. Shot it on 5x4 film to but have ]nt seen that so I hope I loaded the film the right way….its been 8 years… I really wanted to put the aerial in but felt I should shoot something new.

Concept
Luke, I know its a tough one as you dont want to do something that is generic and typical for the idea of wood. I love both your ideas with the tress in NY and also the beautiful weathered shack.
Also if you are out and about in the US I thought really great idea is to photograph the timber shell of a house in an urban sprawl one after the other but Im not sure if that sort of thing exists.

Hi Luke,
I like the fake-wood objects idea. The old wood sided car is very US. Plus you know I like cars :)
Good luck!

My project
Since Adair has put a ‘spotlight’ on me I thought I’d better share my idea. Luke, my concept is very different to yours (and Shannon’s) and I have seen the other shots that she is submitting and they are very similar in concept and feel to that image…..
It has been a bit of process to get my project off the ground and I still haven’t shot it yet…..I am...
LOGO for FOTO @ PIN-UP
As you all know Clemenger BBDO Melbourne is helping us out with the collateral for the show.
Paul has designed us a pretty cool logo and is putting together the booklet, Invites and posters.
Still not sure what images are going on them but will need to sort something out soon.
We should be able to show you a rough of the logo tomorrow

Hi Luke
I know what your going through as we all do…
The water tanks would be perfect. I Mean so what if its been done before. The main thing is to present something you are happy with, as you spent the last 7 years in NYC - for me its a perfect subject for you however . I liked the trees too engulfing the city…
Im not sure anyones shooting trees - can’t see the trees for...
Feedback
Hi Lucas
I love the shot but to be honest it is very similar to Shannon’s concept and also Isamu’s …
Concept Quandary
Hi All, well, I don’t know about you, but this theme has me in somewhat of a kerfuffle. My first instinct is to get as far away from the obvious - trees, bark, wooden objects as possible, but only because it could look a bit like the Box Hill camera club meet-up (no offence, I’m a box hill boy), but then, how pretentious is it to avoid those things!
Still, it needs to be more...
luke I think this could be both, a way to discuss ideas and put our work out there.
We have seen a print of Shannons already at the meeting, which has lifted the bar.
Its open for discussion but personally I don’t see any harm in talking openly about our submissions, showing examples - even the work….. its a bit of an experiment.

Pinning
Hi All
I was thinking we should put forward some different methods of pinning the pics up in the gallery.
As we discussed in the meeting in Melbourne the gallery will purchase the tacks , pins or whatever means we all decide on to PIN UP our pieces .upload your suggestions.

Adrian and I visited this gallery in Paris which does limited edition prints from professional photographers. It was a really interesting concept - the idea being that they have 200 professional photographers providing a selection of their prints in order to be able to offer accessible prices to the public. They have galleries in Paris, New York, Brussels, Koln and Barcelona.

lucasallenphoto asked: Hi, can you explain how you are thinking the blog will work? Is it an opportunity to audition shots for the exhibition, or more just news from the photogs? or both? Looking forward to it!
